At Kensington Temple, London City Church we have a dream. The dream is to see London influenced and impacted by the gospel. It is to see Jesus invade our streets, our homes, our schools and workplaces. For many years we have worked together to see this dream fulfilled. The Lord has blessed the network - there are 15,000 to 17,000 people within the London City Church and we have planted over 150 churches. But recently the Lord has given us a new, vital key to see the fullness of the vision accomplished. This key is called - Discipleship Cell Explosion, or the G12 Vision.
News coming in from the whole network shows how the G-12 Vision is developing. Since adopting the G12 Vision in September 2001 the number of cells in the Kensington Temple, London City Church network have grown from 400 to 900. Some churches which have not been growing for years are now getting conversions every week. People are being won for Christ in the cells and now they're staying in the churches. Some 7,000 people have been on the Encounter Weekends* which are part of the G12 Vision. These are proving to be powerful times of meeting with God. Many leaders and members alike are testifying to changed lives. One family who had recently been on men's and women's encounters changed so much that their counsellor told them they didn't need to go him anymore. Long-standing problems are being resolved.
The church services are all in one way or another, focussing on the vision: to win, consolidate, disciple and send. People are really picking up on the vision and seeing it relate to where they are spiritually and in life. The 'Ladder of Success'* shows how to find real success in life. By doing what Jesus called us to do, we can be sure of His "Well done, you good and faithful servant." And we also find the secret of success for this life. James says that doers of the Word are blessed (James 1:25). This is the blessing of God that comes into every part of our lives when we obey the Lord.
We now have almost 1,000 people in the School of Leaders*. This is the new the 30-week training programme for cell leaders in the G12 vision. We are expecting soon to grow from 900 to 13,000 cells. Hundreds of KT/LCC members are currently being placed in a cell group. Every member of the IBIOL is either leading a cell or is an active part of a cell. This cell involvement is part of their course and counts towards their graduation at the end of the year.
